Lupe Fiasco Rant

Another Rapper Ranting About The Truth

Yes, here is another rapper rant (going off). Lupe Fiasco "pulled a Kanye" the other when he decided to rant during his performance at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Although we are not use to Lupe ranting on stage, we are familiar with his opinionated controversial topics that he talks about in his raps and twitter rants. This is starting to become a common thing with Lupe, because last month during Lupe's performance at the Inauguration he was escorted off of the stage because of the anti-Obama song that he performed. In the rant Lupe discusses radio & airplay, violence in communities, and big corporations. Why are all of these rappers angry? Well that's a topic for another post, but I will say look closely to everything these rappers are saying and do not just brush them off as being "crazy," because they're doing this for a reason. Check out the rant!

Popped a Molly, You Stupid...woo.

If your Molly wasn't yellowish like this, it was fake, pimp.

Somehow, despite everyone having a mind of their own (yeah right), celebrities have convinced us to pop Mollies. What's a Molly? Molly is a form of MDMA (better known as ecstasy) with an addition of methylone (better known as "bath salts") and in some instances, depending on your dealer...cocaine. The usage of Molly has become the most prominent in the African American community by way of promotion through rap songs. That's right, rappers such as 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Trinidad James, and other idio...rappers have been influencing us (y'all) to do cocaine, ecstasy, and bath salts. Crazy right? The people we choose to follow amazes me.

For most of my adolescent and adult life, I have been accustomed to black people throwing shade at white people for the exotic drugs they are known to take. Black people have always been bourgeois when it came to doing drugs. Just alcohol and weed. Now, because rappers have said it is cool, why not step our game up, eh? Why not upgrade from minor drugs to life-threatening ones? YOLO, right? That rapper influence is real, g. Drake had us in our feelings first, then told us to be reckless with YOLO, now they have us popping Mollies and sweating. Cool.

Ever wondered WHY you sweat after popping Mollies? Of course not, we don't question anything. Anyway, the obvious answer is that MDMA (ecstasy) is a drug that naturally raises your body temperature. However, the intense sweating comes as a result of added chemicals such as CRYSTAL METH. "White people are stupid. I'd never take meth. They can have that." Welp. Since sweating is a way of keeping your body from overheating, excessive Molly Poppin' will raise your temperature to the point where you will...well...die. At least keep a bottle of water beside you while being an idiot.

There's a lot more to this Molly drug, as far as side effects and such, that I do not feel like writing about. That's where you come in. It's up to you to do research on what's going in to your body, or your friend/family member's body...whatever the case may be. Point is: The shit is dangerous. Period.

I'm done here though. Live you life, pimp. YOLO. Might as well pop Mollies and defeat the purpose of only having one life. Leave a comment, or hit us on Twitter @LiveLIVELLC. Out.

Video: Kendrick Lamar ft. Drake - Poetic Justice

Kendrick Lamar ft. Drake "Poetic Justice"

Above, you will see the long-awaited video of Kendrick Lamar's single "Poetic Justice" from his now-gold album, Good Kid, m.A.A.d City. To me, the video is pretty ok for the most part. It catered to the theme of his album...just like the rest of his videos. It's worth a watch though. Aubrey even makes his appearance in the video. Before the video came out, his verse seemed redundant in the album. However, he seems to have a purpose in this video. I can't lie though, Kendrick has been doing a stellar job at maintaining his relevancy. Good job, K. Dot.

Drones coming to a city near you...

According to the article of Yahoo! writer Jeremy Hsu, the production of drones is about to dramtically increase. According to the U.S. government, we need these drones to circulate through the air frequently to fight the "terrorists" away. As I last recall, the government was/is trying bring into existence the legality of predator drone strikes on U.S. civilians legal. However, they throw around the word "terrorists" to make it more acceptable...you know...the same way they justified listening to you and ya gal' have phone sex because a few Saudi Arabian "terrorists" rammed jets into government infrastructure. Patriot Act, is it? This is also similar to how they're about to take ya straps (guns) from you because of these "random" people who have been shooting kids, and "Dark Knight" fans. But hey...
All in all, I hope you don't feel comfortable with Big Brother flying around in the sky watching you take showers. I also hope that you do not feel comfortable with Big Brother having the ability to drop a bomb on you whenever he feels comfortbale with doing so. The government is flexing its power and this is nothing less than an example of that. Do not be convinced that these drones are needed. Do not be convinced that gun-confiscation is needed. Do not be convinved that Internet regulation is needed. Do your homework, g. That is all.

New J. Cole EP "Truly Yours"

J. Cole Unexpected EP

J. Cole gives this small EP to his fans while we wait on his upcoming album "Born Sinner," which was suppose to come out on January 28, but was delayed.

Here are the 5 tracks off of an unexpected EP "Truly Yours." From first listen of the EP, I say that it's not that bad, of course it's not old cole but still pretty good.
Cole decided to take the classic Lauryn Hill song "Zion" and do his own thing with it, although I prefer the original version, Cole did not completely mess up the classic song. "Can I Holla At Ya" was his own style, however the verses don't compare to the original.
Altogether the EP was good and it's nice to hear Cole drop something.
What do you think of it??

J. Cole also released a message to his fans.

It’s time.
I appreciate you giving me the time I needed to grow, experiment, and find the direction for my 2nd album.. And I have. Along the way I’ve recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, lots of it being unfinished demo versions waiting to be polished up, some of them are great songs and important stories that just won’t make the album (either they don’t fit Sonically, don’t fit Theme, or there’s just not enough space) .
Tonight, I want to give you a few of these songs because you deserve them. It’s hard as fuck for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait. Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul..
The wait is over.
Truly Yours,
Born Sinner
PS- 1st single coming this week. The album is hands down my best work yet. Can’t wait to share.

Featured Mixtapes

The Review

Mixtape review 5 = Good, 4 = Straight, 3 = Okay/Same O Same O, 2 = Wack, 1 = What were they thinking?? I would have a score that means great, but I haven't experienced a "Great" mixtape since I think "Friday Night Lights." However I could be mistaken, but that's the last one that came to my memory.

Rating: 3

This is self explanatory, basically it's same old Waka. You can't call it bad because this is just his style and I guess he isn't changing.

Rating: 4

Although Curren$y is doing his same style, the songs are pretty good. Curren$y is really a middle solid rapper. He delivers good material but haven't elevated nor decreased in any manner.

Rating: 2

Although Jose Guapo is kinda catchy this mixtape sucks. The only thing that saved the mixtape from getting a score of 1 is some of the catchy songs.

New Kanye Album in the Making "Rich Black American"

Rich Black American

Lets hope that this picture and that the rumors are true about a possible new Kanye West album titled "Rich Black American," according to this photo. In the picture you see seven tracks with a number of great features, however we do not see a Jay-Z feature, which is quite unusual. Kanye hasn't had a solo album since the 2010 classic album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," so his fans should be eagered to see what he has in store for us next. Kanye has never brought the same style, he has always been different ranging from "Jesus Walks" to "Dark Twisted Fantasy," and so on. His variety of styles has made him lose fans and gain fans. Kanye has a love/hate relationship between the media and his fans. Many people say "I miss College Dropout Kanye," but he is the same Kanye just offering something new. With that being said I hope this is true because it's long overdue.
