Top 10 Albums of 2013 (No particular order)

A Great Year For Music!!

Random Access Memories - Daft Punk

Released May 17, 2013

If the cover art doesn't already catch your attention, than their Hit Single "Get Lucky" ft. Pharrell definitely will. The smooth classic sounds are what made Random Access Memories probably the best album of 2013. This Vevo audio alone has over 150 million views on Youtube. The lead single "Get Lucky" became an international success, peaking in the top 10 in 32 countries. Random Access Memories garnered three Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year, while "Get Lucky" received two nominations, including Record of the Year. Certified Platinum album.

Yeezus - Kanye West

Released June 18, 2013
Yes, Yeezus makes the list, for all of the viewers that disagree with Kanye's latest album. Although Yeezus peaked at number 1 likely because of all the controversy behind the album, Yeezus sales declined from the first week being out sold by J. Cole's Born Sinner. However, Yeezus makes this list because this is a great album. The production on the album is flawless, and the outspoken "in your face" lyrics explains the entire album. The album received rave reviews from music critics, who considered Yeezus among West's best work and praised the different sound. However, it was met with mixed reactions from the public, with divided opinions emerging after the album had an internet leak four days before release. Certified Gold album.

Magna Carta Holy Grail - Jay Z

Released July 4, 2013

MCHG was a sneak attack to the industry that blew up the charts! This well rounded solid album deserves to be on this list, not only because of the sales but also because of the quality. Timberland has definitely out done himself this year, because the production on MCHG was flawless. The beats, the lyrics, and features (with the exception of Rick Ross) were cohesive and solid. Well Done Hov! (Side note: let’s be real a 2 year old could've written Rick Ross verse).  Certified Platinum album.

Born Sinner - J. Cole

Released June 18, 2013
J. Cole's sophomore album Born Sinner, satisfied his fans especially with the lead single, "Power Trip." Born Sinner finally granted J. Cole his title as being one of the best in the game, although his fans were already aware of his abilities. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 297,000 copies in its first week of release. After two weeks of being at number two, Born Sinner climbed to number one in its third week. Certified Gold album. Good job Cole, but now you need to get a platinum album (we're sick of the gold's).

Nothing Was The Same - Drake

Released September 20, 2013
If you have listened to Nothing Was The Same, it's really not much you can say, other than just great! I'm still listening to this album like the album was released yesterday. The solid delivery throughout the album, of course awesome lyrics and the production is why Nothing Was The Same, exceeded critics expectations. The album was also a commercial success, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 selling 658,000 copies in it's first week of release. It also debuted within the top two positions in Canada, Denmark, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Certified Platinum album.

The 20/20 Experience - Justin Timberlake

Released March 15, 2013
The year 2013 was definitely the year of JT! The 20/20 Experience solidifies this, especially with his hit singles "Suit & Tie," and "Mirrors." The 20/20 Experience received generally favorable reviews from music critics. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard with first-week sales of 968,000 copies, becoming Timberlake's second number one album on the chart and best-selling debut week of his solo career. Of course I didn't forget about Timberlakes's second released album of this year, The 20/20 Experience part 2 but I simply wanted others to make the list. Certified Platinum album.

The Electric Lady - Janelle Monae

Released September 6, 2013
Although highly under sold in my book, The Electric Lady has versatility like no other, with meaningful lyrics to match. Debuting at number 5 on Billboard Janelle topped her debut album The ArchAndroid with the sales and charts. This album serves as the fourth and fifth installments of her seven-part Metropolis concept series. Musically, The Electric Lady incorporates influences of neo-soul, funk gospel, jazz and rock.

Beyonce - Beyonce

Released December 13, 2013

Beyoncé was probably the most influential album of this year, because of the unexpected sales alongside of a surprise album. Knowles released Beyoncé without any promotion, only by simply tweeting and announcing that fans were able to buy her new album. This album showed a new side of Beyoncé getting mixed reviews from the public and critics. The surprise album Beyoncédebuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with three-day sales of 617,213 digital copies, giving Knowles her fifth consecutive number-one. Certified Platinum album.

Doris - Earl Sweatshirt

Released August 20, 2013
Earl Sweatshirt is definitely one of the most underrated rap artist today, and Doris proves that statement. Earl challenges audiences with his word play, interesting flow, and unique lyricism. Upon its release, Doris was met with universal critical acclaim from music critics, including perfect scores by The Guardian and Los Angeles Times, which praised Sweatshirt's rhyme schemes and lyrics along with the gritty underground production. The album also fared well commercially debuting at number five on the US Billboard and number one on US Top Rap albums chart.

Bangerz - Miley Cyrus

Released October 4, 2013
Miley Cyrus should've made some kind of history with this years Bangerz. The hit single "We Can't Stop" sparked up the now international twerking movement. Although the epidemic has been going on in African-American communities years prior to Miley introducing this internationally, but this began the start of her hit album Bangerz. Miley's second single "Wrecking Ball" video sparked a number of controversies for being both sexual and graphic. Bangerz received mixed to positive reviews from music critics, who appreciated its overall production and originality, but were ambivalent towards Cyrus' public persona. The record debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard with first-week sales of 270,000 copies. Certified Gold album.

Is Brian Griffin Returning to Family Guy Soon?

Good news, everyone. The beloved family dog of the Griffin family, Brian, could be making his return sooner than expected.

On December 15th, the Family Guy episode "Christmas Guy" is set to drop. The plot's description reads, "Stewie devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas."While that isn't full blown proof of a return for the son of a bitch, Entertainment Weekly has reported that he will make a return, but it is not yet known how that will take place.

There has been speculation of Brian Griffin's return ever since his death. In the episode, "Life of Brian" (the kill-off eppy), Stewie and Brian are traveling through time. When they returned to the present, Stewie opts to destroy the time machine. Brian is rightfully skeptical, but Stewie insists that they do things differently and be more active. At the junkyard where they destroy the time machine, Stewie and Bryan find a hockey net and keep it to play and exercise. Later on, as Brian is setting up the net, HIS car comes flying around the corner and hits him, resulting in his subsequent death.

It is said that Stewie will miraculously find the "titanium capacitor" he needs to rebuild his time machine and prevent the event from happening, which is seemingly impossible at this point. Brian better hope Jesus is in the next episode. Although it will have taken Brian three weeks to resurrect as opposed to three days, a return is all that the people want. Who doesn't miss Brian's intellect, mixed with his seldom urge to do things that actual dogs would do? Besides, people still desire to know who even killed Brian in the first place. Come on, make all 128,000 of those petition-signers happy, Seth.

Again, the "Chirstmas Guy" episode of Family Guy airs on Sunday, December 15th at 9/8c. For now...

How Long Can You Go Without Sex

Recently with the rise in sexual propaganda I've had to experience unusual information, leaving me flustered and scratching my scalp. My little sister is 11 years old and her bestfriend is dating, DATING. Meanwhile she just learned how babies were made 2 weeks before she decided she wanted to be courted. The grand parents of our generation are affixed on the idea that our generation is more corrupt, sexual, deviant and all of the above. If you ask me they are more skilled in judgment than in leadership. Anyway, how would I take sexual advice from my grandfather he got my grandmother pregnant when she was 14 and he was 24. I look at him like and say this, ( all in my head of course lol ) Bruh you are a PEDAFILE lol, but since it wasn't a crime back then, our generation is now considered "fast". I think the one variable is technology flooding the youth with information sexual and non-sexual. Causing them to grow up extremely fast and bring adult experiences faster than ever before. New emerging social networks like Vine and Instagram help speed that process up faster than ever before.

Now that I have provided you with a little background information lets go back to the focus of the article. How Long Can You Go Without Sex ? I'm pretty sure the sexual propoganda is going to trick everybody into thinking they can't go without. Besides, in the younger male community it's cool to have sex, and have a few THOTS under your belt. When it comes to me well my mother intellectually established an understanding, without sugar coating the reality of sex. So before I lost my virginity I was scared to have sex for fear of STD's. I'm like fuck all that I'm not getting  burned. So that trained me and let me know that I could go without and that we all could go without. Then I start thinking how natural it is that we feel we can't go without an activity that wasn't ever intended for recreation only "creation" aka reproduction. With all that being said enjoy all these other blogs and stay updated on what where doing YouTube.com/spittathehorizon

Why You're As Much of a 'Genius' as Jay Z

I hear a lot of people call the "God MC"/rap mogul/business mogul Jay Z a genius. As understandable as it is that you would call him that, given his business ventures and great success, I must disagree. What exactly is it that Jay-Z has done that you yourself cannot accomplish? The answer is "nothing".

It does not take a genius to become successful. It takes someone that is driven and willing to work for whatever it is that he/she wants. The success that you attain is solely dependent on the time and effort you decide to put into it. Are you willing to make connections? Are you willing to step outside of the box? Jay Z was. From selling crack cocaine in the streets of Brooklyn, NY--a story you probably are familiar with (click here if you aren't)--Jay managed to work his way onto not only the rap scene, but later the Forbes List.

His rise to success was sparked by his lack of complacency. He had no interest in falling into mediocrity and limiting himself. Whatever he wanted to do, he did it. Don't worry, it's as simple as it sounds. Also, his success is sparked by his unwillingness to be limited to doing one thing. In his interview at Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club", Hov said, "They have that thing, that belief that you can only do one thing. We’re inflicted with that disease. I can walk AND chew gum."

Although 99.9% of people over the age of 2 can literally do this, that same percentage don't do this in it's figurative meaning. That number is exaggerated, but the point is that a lot of us strive our entire lives to achieve one major goal. When we are asked what we want to do with our careers, we typically have one answer. If that isn't the case, we have more than one answer, but it's "OR" instead of "AND". "I want to either be a musician, clothing designer, club owner, partial basketball team owner, record label executive, producer, OR a blogger." Jay Z is ALL of that and more.

In the "more" category, Jay is also a sports agent representing his own Roc Nation Sports. Just today, Jay's client Robinson Cano, known as the superstar 2nd baseman for the New York Yankees, landed a 10-year/$240 million contract with the Seattle Mariners. This was courtesy of who? The man that everyone said should stick to rapping; Jay Z. People called Cano a "dumbass" for choosing Jay as his agent. Meanwhile, the Seattle Mariners just spent more money on Hov's client than they have spent in the past offseasons...combined. What were y'all saying again?

All in all, Sean Carter has learned how to maximize his time and do more than one thing. They say that should master one thing instead of being a jack of all trades? Well, who's to say that you cannot master more than one thing. All $500 million of Jay Z's money isn't from rapping. He mastered the business side of things also. Being able to be driven, and not lazy and unmotivated contributed to this. He felt as if he was destined to be where he is today, regardless of what happens between the time. If you take on this attitude, I promise you could be in the same position. There is nothing in this blog post that you are unable to do, neither is this anything you haven't heard. We are all geniuses, Jay is just wise for using his smarts. That's all.

Balance: The Key to Your Relationship.

Nearly everyone is interested in relationships. You are either in one, been in one, or want to know how to get in and maintain one. If none are the case, you may genuinely enjoy being alone. Regardless of which one applies to you, you probably want to find a way to relate the complexities of relationships to YOUR relationships. Among all of the ins-and-outs of these partnerships, the most important key is probably moderation and balance. Sounds pretty basic, right? Well, it was equally as basic when you read the title and opened the page. Peep.

Being in a relationship requires one to have patience and never do too much of one thing. Doing too much of one thing can drive your partner crazy at any given moment, hence the cliche that exists that I don't have to type for you to know. With that, you have to be understanding of it and balance things out.

For example, men tend to stay away from women that are overly-clingy. Imagine leaving your phone in your room while you're in the shower. You come back, and you see "26 missed calls", all of which is under the name "Bae". All of a sudden you're thinking, "Somebody die?" Meanwhile, you miss me after just seeing me 20 minutes ago. I appreciate the love, boo, but come on.

In contrast, however, no man wants a woman that is too stand off-ish and dismissive. If he feels as if he has to schedule an appointment to get your attention, he's probably closer to cheating than having low ammo with five stars on Grand Theft Auto. Get it together.

Another example can be used on the women's side of things--although the former example was applicable to both sides. Many (not all) women like for a man to exude power, confidence, dominance, and control of situations, as society says that a man should do just that. This is a showing of why women often say, "I want a man that can put me in my place!" As that may be a turn on for them, I'm sure the ladies have no interest in being beaten and slammed through tables like professional wrestlers. Even the professional women wrestlers don't have to endure that. On the flip side, however, most women do not want a man that is passive, submissive, and soft. That is the ultimate turn off for many.

That brings me to my final point, each person in a relationship has an equal responsibility within it. These responsibilities may vary based on peoples' standards on how a relationship should be. Nonetheless, a relationship is a two-way partnership that calls for both participants to put forth the same effort. There must be....uhhh....balance. One participant in a relationship cannot be too domineering over the other. If so, the other will feel useless and of no significance. With balance, each party can make one another feel more worthy and appreciated. Both people should feel as if they have a valid role in a stable relationship. Making people feel important IS important.

All in all, despite the difference in context of the word "balance" in the last paragraph, balance is balance, and can be the determining factor on whether or not your relationship succeeds or fails. Learn your partner and how to please them. Even then, don't be overbearing with that either. Do so in moderation. You don't want to set the bar so high that you have NO room to be imperfect. The expectations you have raised can come back to haunt you. See? Balance is universally applicable. If you knew that already, then why weren't you putting it into action? (If you were, #saloot.)
